Efficient software development

System level vs. project-specific development

In medical engineering and many other fields, programming in C/C++ at system level is the only alternative. These languages offer the necessary control, efficiency and performance required at this level. However, when it comes to project-specific development, it is clear that model-based development offers a significantly better and more efficient solution.

With tools such as the iCon-L programming system, project-specific application software can be developed quickly and transparently. Model-based development not only reduces the effort required to create architecture and design, but also facilitates the verification of safe software – especially in regulated areas such as medical engineering, which is subject to strict requirements under EN62304 and the MDR.

While C/C++ is indispensable at the system level, model-based development opens up new possibilities for faster and more secure software development at the project-specific level.
