CHP10 - CHP Control system

Programming a CHP system with our in house programming software iCon-L

The CHP10 was developed to control a combined heat and power system (CHP system). It is a modular design for easy configuration and consists of three major components. The base of the controller is the inertial measurement unit (IMU). This provides both analog and digital inputs and outputs for the control and regulation of the CHP. On this basis, the interface control unit (ICU) board is mounted. Main component of this Printed circuit board is a Field Programmable Gate Array, which on the one hand provides the communication between the IMU and Qseven module and on the other hand generates the pulses for the ignition of the CHP. Furthermore, there are interfaces for external communication for optional measurement systems and the control of an LCD display on this board. There is a Qseven module on the ICU. This is a single-board computer, which is connected to the ICU by means of a PCI-Express port. The control software of the CHP in on this computer.

Four independent runtime kernels

A special feature of this control is  the possibility to operate up to four independent runtime kernels simultaneously. Therefore, up to 4 different programs can be executed parallel and without reaction. A communication among the cores is possible over variables.

Program cycles of up to 10 KHz

The cycle times are adjustable and allow a control frequency of up to 10 kHz. To accomplish this, a micro kernel is running on the control, this leads to a low latency time during the interrupt handling and a jitter of 8μs.

Integrated grid and plant protection in accordance with DIN V VDE V 0126-1-1 2006-02:
Clearance certificate until 31.12.2016

The control system has been used successfully in the intelli home power plant.
